WHAT IS FLIPPED CLASSROOM?
As a sophomore student in university, i know definitely what school feels like as i spent one third of my lifetime in school, studying academically, learning many soft skills, and improving self to be a better individual in personality and character. I have spent years studying in classroom, yes that sounds like a common sense since that's where students belong. Teaching - Learning system is now considered conventional. It brings up the experts to use the technology to more advance and useful method. They call it Flipped Classroom. It is where student do the studying at home through videos uploaded from the teachers and do the homework at school or where they study. Based on Wkipedia, Flipped classroom is an instructional strategy and a type of blended learning that reverses the traditional learning environment by delivering instructional content, it often occurs online or outside the classroom.
IS IT EFFECTIVE?
IS IT EFFECTIVE?
I personally, already know about this studying system, somehow it's similar to homeschooling, but i never know the media that the teachers use to teach their lessons to their students. Not until i joined this CALL class which is truly beneficial for me and my future career. I finally experienced a flipped classroom system myself (as a future teacher).
In my opinion, it will be very effective in Indonesian classrooms for teenagers nowadays are so technologically advanced plus this way, students get to be involved in knowledge and active interaction even though not face to face. The technique is difficult at first but we all would get along as we get used to use it as often as we could, with interesting topics and motivation every teacher must carry them out very well. In fact, flipped classroom have been proven to be effective in secondary schools as well as improving student learning at the community college level.
Indeed, some students may struggle due to their developing personal responsibility. In a self-directed, home learning environment students who are not at the developmental stage required to keep on-task with independent learning may fall rapidly behind their peers.
WHAT AM I GOING TO EXPLAIN?
WHAT AM I GOING TO EXPLAIN?
The lesson that i am hopefully going to give out is about active and passive voice. The differences between each tenses and how and when they are used in different sentences. This lesson is usually brought to students within the last year of elementary school until first early years of the junior high school. This lesson might probably one of the most troublesome for most students in fact when we know the basic rules, it must be as easy as a piece of cake :) This flipped classroom program is very useful and effective for students to improve themselves better at home. The only disadvantage is that we need fast wifi or internet connection as our main facility. But for teachers, it is very easy and simple work.
HOW TO USE IT?
Simply open the website Ed.Ted and sign up for a starter. Create your own lesson by pasting the link that you would like to explain (about a particular lesson based on your interests). Make some questions through the stages that already provided there and when you have finished, check one more time before you finally publish it. Boom. That's it, as easy as that, right?
Lastly, i have already prepared a practice to help you all in the future in teaching your students about this particular lesson. Please also fill out the practice i have made before you teach others. Thank you and Good Luck!!
