ENTERING UNIVERSITY USING QUIZLET
Based on what i found in Wikipedia, Quizlet is a mobile and web-based study application used by 1-in-2 high school students and 1-and-3 college students in the United States.
Quizlet trains students via flashcard and various games and tests. In 2016, Quizlet was recognized by SimilarWeb as the fastest growing US Educational site in 2015.
To be honest, i just knew this website from the CALL Lecture. For me personally, i really enjoy using this website since we all can create our own test practices, questions and games. It was easily accessible and fun. This website really helps us to be high technology teachers in the future. Not only does it help to make questions and tests, but also allow us to practice our English vocabularies through fun games which will definitely trigger us to study and learn more and more words and sentences. Wikipedia also say that Quizlet holds an annual language competitions in French, German, and Spanish.
Study Methods and Games :
In order to help us memorize the vocabularies, Quizlet provides the users to create "sets" of terms customized for their own needs. Theses sets of terms can then be studied in the methods whichever we would like. There are
- Flashcard - It is similar to paper flash card. It shows the users a "card" from each team. Users can click to flip over the card, or use their arrow keys, and see the definition for that term.
- Gravity - Choose the level : easy, medium, hard. Users must type the term (in asteroids) that goes with the definition before it reaches the bottom of the screen (earth).
- Learn - Users are shown a term of definition and must type the term or definition that goes with what is shown. They will automatically record your grade.
- Long-Term Learning - Users are given a recommended study set based on whether or not they answer study set questions correctly. Less repetition, incorrect answers, punctuality will be most needed.
- Speller - The term is read out loud and users must type in the term with the correct spelling.
- Match - Users are presented with a grid with terms scattered around it. Users must drag terms on top of their associated definitions to remove them from the grid and try to clear the grid in the fastest time possible.
Here is my quizlet example. So glad if you all can give it a try and let us see the score :) Good Luck
